The biggest pollution in the history of the Meditteranean Sea

Among human casualties and infrastructure disasters, Israel bombing caused the biggest pollution in the History of Meditteranean Sea, according to WWF.

The photo on the left shows dead fish lie on the popular Ramlet el-Baida beach (White Beach) in Beirut.

The WWF said rare sea turtles were threatened with extinction, as well as fish stocks already decimated by overfishing, and migratory birds.

The oil spill now covers more than 90 kilometers of the country’s coast.
Satellite images show that that the spill has also reached the waters off of Syria, and experts warn that the oil may reach as far as Turkey, Cyprus, and even Greece.

The source of the spill is the Jiyyeh power plant, located 30 kilometers south of the Lebanese capital, Beirut. Bombed between July 13 and 15 during the ongoing Israel-Lebanon conflict, the power plant has since leaked 15,000 tons of oil into the sea.

The oil has been drifting in the Mediterranean for alomst three weeks. Each day more makes the situation worse for human beings and nature.
If not removed, the oil would form lumps and sink to the bottom of the sea. From there, its poisons would get into the food chain, and could ultimately, via fish, get back to humans as well.

In what planet our kids will be growing up????

What scares me most was the reaction to the tears of the Lebanese President, which if nothing else was ICE COLD.
Our children will be growing up in a world that we prepare for them, but I think that they will have the chance to change it, should the seed of our ideas does not find fertile ground in the souls.

They are only brown faces for them and nothing more, don't expect something else.
